Northern Virginia Discussion Community Guidelines
Welcome to Northern Virginia Discussions. This site was created as more of a friendly online community for people who live in Northern Virginia. I created this site because there were not any community sites out there that are still managed. Any new people who visit the site, I encourage you to post! Help us get the site active. The more people who post, the more users will start visiting!

Northern Virginia Discussions Community Guidelines
Part I - Posting
• Keep posts in the general area for counties or cities on topic. The "Other" board is where you can post things that are off topic.
• Do not spam the forums. Spam is repeated messages meant to annoy or for advertisement purposes.
• Avoid flame wars. Flame wars add negativity to the site which is not needed.
• Do not post abusive or untrue content about community members.
• Do not post pornographic content anywhere on the forum. This action will result in a warning.
Part II - Members
• Do not make personal attacks on the forums. Personal attacks are attacks aimed at a specific person for revenge/humiliation purposes.
• Do not "out" forum members. Outing is the act of finding and revealing the real identity of a poster, which will not be tolerated. Outing will result in a 50 day ban + a serious warning.
• Do not harass forum members. If you are being harassed on Northern Virginia Discussions, contact the site admin, Jeff immediately.
Part III - Warnings
Warnings can be issued for many reasons. A warning lasts for 20 days and then will be dropped after contacting the administrator or moderator who issued the warning.
- You have no warnings.
- You have one warning.
- You have two warnings.
- You have a serious warning.
- You are banned.
You will be notified upon receiving a warning.
Part IV - Banning
Bans could be given for many reasons. If you have moved up the warning system to the point where a ban is issued, it will last for a total of 60 days. After the 60 days has expired, you will need to contact a moderator or administrator and request your warning to be set back.
• Spam - Permanent
• Harassment - 20 days
• Outing - 50 day account ban + 30 day IP Ban
• Making Threats - Serious warning
Part VII - Reporting a post
To report an abusive message, click the "!" button on the top right corner of a post. The moderators or administrators will take care of it as soon as it is received. You will be notified when your report is dealt with.
• Do not create false reports. All reports are taken seriously.
• Only report a post one time.
Part VIII - Reporting an abuse
If there is a situation serious enough to the point where you would need to file an abuse complaint, below will walk you through that.
____________________________________________________________
At the bottom right hand corner of the page, you can report and abuse by clicking "Report an abuse". An abuse complaint goes past the moderators and straight to the forum administrator and founder.
These community guidelines may be updated at any time.
